Behind the Brand: How Im Building a Marketing Agency From Baseball Stadiums Across the Country

I'm writing this from Oregon, about 2,000 miles from home, enjoying our first two-day break from games in what feels like forever. A year ago, if you had told me I'd be launching a marketing agency from the road, I would have been equal parts terrified and excited.

But here's what I've learned about building something from an unconventional place: success isn't about where you are, it's about how intentionally you show up.

It Started with a Double Degree and Big Dreams

My journey to With Grace Marketing & Events began at Murray State University, where I earned a double degree in Marketing and Hospitality. I chose both because I've always believed they're two sides of the same coin: both are about making people feel something, creating experiences that stick.

College was a whirlwind. I cheered for football and basketball, was active in my sorority, and served as Business Senator. I also worked with the Memphis Grizzlies as a Brand Ambassador. I was the student who said yes to everything because I was genuinely fascinated by how brands connect with people.

Looking back, I was already practicing what would become the heart of With Grace: showing up fully, wherever you are.

Remote Work Before It Was Cool

After graduating early, I jumped into the working world and discovered something powerful: I thrived in remote work environments. This wasn't a pandemic pivot for me – I've been working my entire career remotely.

My first role was as a Marketing and Operations Specialist at a tech startup where our tiny team of three taught me to move fast, think broadly, and wear every hat in the room. From there, I stepped into a Sales Operations Manager role at Delta, where I gained valuable corporate experience while working remotely.

Most recently, I've been working in media buying at the national level within the marketing division of the largest law firm in the Americas. This role deepened my understanding of what it takes to make a brand truly stand out at scale.

Every role was remote, every role taught me something different, but the common thread was clear: I could do excellent work from anywhere with the right intention and systems.

When Baseball Became Our Lifestyle

When Cade got drafted by the San Francisco Giants, our life became officially nomadic. But the transition felt natural because I'd already mastered working from wherever I had WiFi and a laptop.

What changed wasn't my ability to work remotely – it was my perspective on what I wanted to build. Suddenly, I wasn't just working for someone else's dream. I was creating something that honored both my marriage to baseball and my professional ambitions.

The Birth of With Grace

The name "With Grace" comes from my middle name, Madeline Grace Vernon, but it means so much more than that. Grace isn't about perfection. It's about showing up with intention, even when circumstances aren't ideal. It's about building something beautiful in the spaces between other beautiful things.

With Grace didn't start in a corner office with a business plan and investor meetings. It started on my laptop in hotel lobbies, grew during rain delays, and took shape in airport terminals across the country.

I'm building this for founders like me who refuse to choose between their personal life and their professional dreams.

Building from the Road

People ask how I'm launching a business while traveling constantly. The answer is the same way you'd launch it from anywhere: with systems, intention, and a deep commitment to the clients who trust you.

Some of my best discovery calls happen from ballpark parking lots. I design content strategies from hotel business centers and plan event concepts from stadium concourses. My office changes every few weeks, but my standards never do.

What This Journey Is Teaching Me

Living this baseball life while building a business has taught me lessons I'd never learn in a traditional office:

Adaptability is everything. Every city is different. Every client has unique needs. You learn to thrive in uncertainty instead of just surviving it.

Consistency beats perfection. Baseball is a game of averages played over 162 games. Building a business is similar; it's about showing up consistently, not about having one perfect day.

Your support system matters. Whether it's teammates or fellow entrepreneurs, success happens when people believe in the same vision.

Starting before you're ready is the only way to start. There's never a perfect time to launch your dreams. You figure it out as you go.

Why This Matters to You

I'm sharing this story because I want you to know: if you're building something from a non-traditional place, you're not alone. If you're creating a business that fits your life instead of consuming it, I see you.

With Grace exists for the founder who is building something real in the margins of an already full life. For the entrepreneur who refuses to wait for perfect conditions. For the business owner who knows that where you are has nothing to do with how far you can go.

I may be writing your content strategy from Oregon today and your event timeline from Arizona next week, but that doesn't change the intention, care, and expertise I bring to your brand.

The Road Ahead

We're still traveling. Still building. Still showing up with grace in new cities, new seasons, new opportunities.

I'm launching With Grace Marketing & Events not because I've "made it," but because I believe in serving others while I'm building my own dreams. We're proving together that you can create something meaningful from anywhere if you're willing to show up intentionally.

And honestly? We're just getting started.
